At FoodSource Biotech, research isn’t just what we do, it is who we are. In fact, our technology was born at Auburn University in an academic research environment and successfully transferred into a commercial setting in the fishing industry. Over the years, our R&D mission has allowed us to expand the market for our technology into the animal health industry with the development of our patented material, Incortrix.
Collaboration is the attitude that has fueled our partnerships with government agencies and manufacturers in developing novel drug delivery systems which address the spread of zoonotic diseases in areas of urban sprawl and recreation. Incortrix is the key to creating highly effective bait-oriented applications for diseases such as Rabies and Lyme Disease.
Now, our objective is to introduce Incortrix into the consumer pet and aquatics market, as well as the commercial aquaculture industry. We are confident that, given the right partnering opportunities, we can develop phenomenal treatments for vaccinating/medicating dogs, cats, horses and fish.
Our Research and Development Facility is located in Birmingham, Alabama and is well equipped giving us the following capabilities:
- Culture of Eukaryotic Cell Lines (primary and established)
- Viral Culture and Assay
- Peptide Phage Display Technology
- Protein Purification and Characterization
- Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA)
- Carbohydrate Assays
- Moisture Content Analysis
